Recap: Valley Regional Warriors vs. North Branford Thunderbirds
Even though the North Branford Thunderbirds scored an imposing 55 points on Thursday, the Valley Regional Warriors still came out on top. Valley Regional took down North Branford 69-55. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Valley Regional also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Valley Regional was led to victory by Noah Dolinsky and Conor Quinn. Dolinsky scored 25 points along with five assists and five rebounds, while Quinn went 8 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 28 points and 3 assists. Rex Grabowski was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds.
Valley Regional pushed their record up to 1-0 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for North Branford, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley Regional will challenge New Milford at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully New Milford focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Thursday. As for North Branford, they will head out on the road to face off against Coginchaug Regional at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
