Basketball Game Preview: Monticello Billies vs. Crossett Eagles

The Monticello Billies will head out on the road to take on the Crossett Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Monticello and 17 for Crossett.

Monticello lost 62-42 to Warren on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Crossett had to suffer through a 76-15 loss at the hands of Watson Chapel. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 247th, while the Wildcats are ranked 51st).

Monticello's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Crossett, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-18.

Monticello beat Crossett 43-34 in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Will Monticello repeat their success, or does Crossett have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
