Softball Recap: Addison Comes Up Short

After flying high against East Jackson on Wednesday, Addison came back down to earth. The Panthers came up short against the Morenci Bulldogs on Thursday, falling 12-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 16-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Addison saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caylee Campbell, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

Addison's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Morenci, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Addison will take on Homer at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Morenci, they will challenge Athens at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Morenci's pitchers better be ready for this one: Athens has averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
