Baseball Game Preview: Calvary Christian Cougars vs. Gallatin County Wildcats

The Calvary Christian Cougars will head out to square off against the Gallatin County Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Calvary Christian has four straight victories, Gallatin County has 17 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Calvary Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Robertson County 18-3 on Thursday. Considering the Cougars have won six matches by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Gallatin County didn't have quite enough to beat Eminence on Thursday and fell 7-6.

Calvary Christian pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Gallatin County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-13.

Calvary Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Gallatin County in their previous matchup back in April of 2023, winning 16-12. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
