Basketball Game Preview: Clark Chargers vs. Desert Oasis Diamondbacks

Clark hasn't had much luck against Desert Oasis recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Clark Chargers are taking a road trip to challenge the Desert Oasis Diamondbacks at 6:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Clark is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 32nd straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They were beaten by Coronado 71-11. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Cougars are ranked 11th).

Meanwhile, after soaring to 66 points the game before, Desert Oasis was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They took a blow against Democracy Prep Agassi Campus, falling 60-13. The Diamondbacks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-10.

Clark will have to keep a close watch on Allyson Pursell and Jasmine Bermudez, a pair of players who had a big impact on Desert Oasis' prior game. Pursell posted seven points, while Bermudez put up no points.

Clark's defeat dropped their record down to 0-20. As for Desert Oasis, they dropped their record down to 10-9 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Clark took a serious blow against Desert Oasis in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 57-24. Can Clark avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
