Football Game Preview: Beacon Bulldogs vs. Wallkill Panthers

For the first time this season, Beacon will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will welcome the Wallkill Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Friday, Beacon came up short against Kingston and fell 23-13. The loss put an end to the Bulldogs' undefeated start to the season.

Although Beacon took the loss, they still got scores from Marciano Rodriguez and Jah'Real Whitted.

Meanwhile, while Wallkill put up some points last Thursday, the same can't be said for Valley Central. The Panthers really took it to the Vikings for the full four quarters, racking up a 27-0 win. The Panthers pushed the score to 21-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Vikings had little chance of recovering from.

Beacon better keep an eye on Kent Glasgow. He was instrumental in Wallkill's win, rushing for 205 yards and three touchdowns. Those 205 rushing yards gave Glasgow a new career-high.

Wallkill was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 282 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Valley Central only rushed for 114.

Wallkill's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1. As for Beacon, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 2-1.

Beacon might still be hurting after the 28-3 defeat they got from Wallkill in their previous matchup back in October of 2021. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
