Volleyball Game Preview: Munster Mustangs vs. Michigan City Wolves

The Munster Mustangs will head out to challenge the Michigan City Wolves at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Thursday, Munster came up short against Andrean and fell 3-1. While the Mustangs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Fighting 59ers 25-12 in the first set.

Munster started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 12-25, 25-18, 25-16, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Michigan City suffered their biggest defeat since April 25, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to Valparaiso. The Wolves haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-16, 25-21.

Michigan City's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-3. As for Munster, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Munster beat Michigan City 3-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
