Baseball Recap: Little Miami Snags Ninth Win in Last Ten Games

Little Miami posted their closest victory since April 21st on Thursday. They skirted past the Lakota West Firebirds 7-6. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 5-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Blake Longbottom looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

At the plate, Ian Arthur was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cam Fox, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Little Miami has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Lakota West, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Little Miami will welcome Sycamore at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lakota West, they will be playing at home against Middletown at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Middies will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
