Softball Recap: Winona Comes Up Short

Winona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Ellington Whippets, falling 17-2. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Whippets from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Winona saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lexi Crider, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Winona's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Ellington, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-2.

Coming up, Winona will take on Van Buren at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Ellington has already played their next contest (against Eminence), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
