Baseball Recap: Campbell Gets the Win

Campbell's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top against the 'Aiea Na Alii by a score of 10-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The high-scoring effort was just what the Sabers needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Riley Rosal made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kalaeloa Kalua, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Christian Maiava was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Campbell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Campbell's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for 'Aiea, they dropped their record down to 4-7 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Campbell will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Na Alii: the pair will be back at it again later today.
