Volleyball Recap: Crane Pirates vs. Galena Bears

Crane had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came out on top against the Galena Bears by a score of 3-1. This was payback for the Pirates, who suffered a 3-0 loss the last time these two teams met.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-16, 23-25, 26-24.
Maya Minton paced Crane's offense, picking up 16 kills. Minton got some help from Kayce McKnight and her 24 assists. Minton also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Harper White, each putting up two.
Despite the defeat, Galena had strong showings from Addison Williams, who had 11 digs, and Mel Rice, who had 21 kills, 16 digs, and one block. Rice is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had six or more in each of the last 15 games she's played. Allyssa Howard also deserves some recognition as she had her first blocks of the season.
Crane's victory bumped their record up to 7-9-1. As for Galena, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7-1.
Crane has already played their next contest (against School of the Ozarks), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Galena, they will face off against Chadwick at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
