Lafayette entered their tilt with Grenada on Saturday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They came out on top against the Chargers by a score of 9-5. This was a revenge game for the Commodores: when they faced off against the Chargers back in February, they had to take a 5-4 loss.

Brett Williams tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 5.1 innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Collin Waldrip, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since March 3rd. Another player making a difference was Javin Mitchell, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Lafayette's record now sits at 12-6. As for Grenada, they dropped their record down to 10-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Lafayette will host Columbus at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Grenada, they will face off against Center Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chargers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
