Newark entered their tilt with Washington on Saturday with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. They walked away with a 53-44 win over the Washington Tigers.

Washington lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Chris Knight, who posted 15 points. The matchup was Knight's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Terrelle Keyes, who put up 11 points.

Newark's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Washington, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.
