Basketball Recap: Santiago Triumphs

Santiago lost to Savanna on January 10th, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Santiago Cavaliers came out on top against the Savanna Rebels by a score of 57-50.

Several Rebels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mathys Rudel, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 18 boards. Those 18 rebounds gave Rudel a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Joachim Bikoula, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 10 points and six boards.

Santiago is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season. As for Savanna, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Santiago will square off against Rancho Alamitos at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Savanna, they will take on Los Amigos at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
