Football Recap: Syracuse Titans vs. Corner Canyon Chargers
Syracuse and Corner Canyon squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Syracuse had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Chargers and fell 56-14. The game marked the Titans' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.
Although Syracuse took the loss, they still got scores from Ledger Wight and Tanner Merrill.
A big part of Corner Canyon's victory came down to the chemistry between Helaman Casuga and his top target Isaiah Morris. Casuga threw for 298 yards and four TDs while completing 95.7% of his passes while Morris picked up 188 receiving yards and three scores. What's more, Casuga racked up 69 rushing yards, the most he's had since back in August. Another player making a difference was Jesean Mayberry, who picked up 60 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Syracuse's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Corner Canyon, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
Syracuse does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Corner Canyon, they have already played their next contest, a 59-20 victory against Mountain Ridge on the 14th.
