Baseball Recap: Hampton Roads Academy Comes Up Short

Hampton Roads Academy lost against Isle of Wight Academy back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Navigators lost 11-5 to the Chargers. That's two games in a row now that the Navigators have lost by exactly six runs.

Graham Hutchens was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Motley, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Hampton Roads Academy and nudges their season record down to 6-11. As for Isle of Wight Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Hampton Roads Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Isle of Wight Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Christchurch School at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
