Baseball Recap: Strathmore Takes a Loss

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matchups, Strathmore finally came back down to earth on Saturday. They lost 15-0 to the Porterville Panthers. The game marked the first time this season in which the Spartans were not able to get on the board.

Valentin Araujo was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games he's played.

With the loss, Strathmore broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-6. As for Porterville, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-11.

Strathmore wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 3-3 tie against Farmersville on the 1st. As for Porterville, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against El Diamante on the 1st.
