Baseball Recap: Miller Grove Takes a Loss

Miller Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Quitman Bulldogs, falling 16-1.

Miller Grove saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Clements, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Miller Grove's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Quitman, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Miller Grove will challenge Lone Oak at 1:40 p.m. on Saturday. Miller Grove has given up an average of 11.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. Quitman will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Winona at 1:00 p.m. on March 18th.
