Iowa Colony extended their postseason success on Friday against Brenham. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, they made off with a 31-30 victory over the Cubs. Winning may never get old, but the Pioneers sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

Iowa Colony was led to victory by Aaron Tenner and Carson White. Tenner rushed for 223 yards and one score while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, while White rushed for 118 yards and one TD. That's the most rushing yards White has posted since back in August. Jayden Warren was in the mix too, providing Iowa Colony with two touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Iowa Colony was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 341 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Brenham's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Xyran Upshaw, who threw for 333 yards and four TDs while picking up 11.5 yards per attempt. Chris Guidry also helped out as he racked up 132 receiving yards.

Iowa Colony's record now sits at 12-1. As for Brenham, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-2 record.

Looking ahead, Iowa Colony will challenge Randle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Pioneers 12.8, the Lions 12.7) so any points scored will be well earned. Brenham does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
