Preview: St. Stanislaus Rock-a-Chaws vs. Sacred Heart Crusaders
St. Stanislaus has enjoyed a five-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Sacred Heart Crusaders at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully St. Stanislaus is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Sacred Heart in Mississippi (St. Stanislaus is ranked 101st, while Sacred Heart is ranked 234th).
Last Saturday, St. Stanislaus was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 45-41 to Hancock. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for St. Stanislaus in their matchups with Hancock: they've now lost three in a row.
Meanwhile, Sacred Heart's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Monday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 71-48 walloping at the hands of Purvis.
St. Stanislaus' loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5. As for Sacred Heart, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.
St. Stanislaus took their victory against Sacred Heart in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 by a conclusive 53-29. Does St. Stanislaus have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sacred Heart turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
