Baseball Recap: St. Mary's Ryken Green Takes a Loss

The St. Mary's Ryken Green Knights came up short against the Huntingtown Hurricanes on Thursday and fell 8-5. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

St. Mary's Ryken Green got a good showing from Chase Harkness, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Mason Currey made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one double.

St. Mary's Ryken Green's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Huntingtown, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Mary's Ryken Green will host Southern Maryland Christian Academy at 10:00 a.m. on the 26th. As for Huntingtown, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Northern at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hurricanes 2.3, the Patriots 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
