Basketball Recap: Elkhorn South Storm vs. Omaha North Vikings
Elkhorn South was the 58-50 winner over Omaha North when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Elkhorn South Storm took a 71-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Omaha North Vikings on Friday.

Several Storm players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aimee Burke, who went 6 for 11 on her way to 17 points and five rebounds. That's the most points Burke has posted since back in January of 2024. Macy Schneider was another key player, putting up nine points along with five boards and three steals.
Even though they lost, Elkhorn South smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.
Omaha North's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ayanna Hill, who went 10 of 18 en route to 23 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Milani Drake also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.
Elkhorn South's record is now 3-9. As for Omaha North, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elkhorn South will challenge Omaha Central at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Elkhorn South knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Omaha Central likes a good challenge. As for Omaha North, it'll be Northside v. Southside when they and Omaha South meet at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Omaha North is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.7 points per game this season.
