Softball Preview: Branchville Yellow Jackets vs. Barnwell Warhorses

The Branchville Yellow Jackets will head out on the road to square off against the Barnwell Warhorses at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Branchville comes in on five and Barnwell on eight.

In what's become a running theme this season, Branchville gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over Dorchester Academy.

Kayden LaPiene was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Cadence McAlhaney, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Barnwell ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Silver Bluff and snuck past 4-2.
