Hannibal waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Cato-Meridian Blue Devils. While the Warriors didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-9), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Alex Miller was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

Miller wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mason Rich, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. That hit marked the first that Rich has got this season.

Hannibal's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Cato-Meridian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hannibal will host Onondaga at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Cato-Meridian, they will welcome Pulaski at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
