Meanwhile, Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin made easy work of Beaumont School on Friday and carried off an 18-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won nine contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Alex Mould made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin got a massive performance out of Lily Rader, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Maya Rowan, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one double.
Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Beaumont School only posted an OBP of .409.
Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Padua Franciscan, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.
Padua Franciscan was able to grind out a solid win over Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 8-5. Will the Bruins repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
