Recap: Arlington Baptist Eagles vs. Rockbridge Academy Scots
The Arlington Baptist Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 51-50 to Rockbridge Academy. Arlington Baptist was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Rockbridge Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
When it comes to explaining why Arlington Baptist lost, one person who can't be blamed is Zachary Davis. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 rebounds. Davis scored a full 48% of Arlington Baptist's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Brendon Brown, who scored 10 points along with 6 rebounds.
Arlington Baptist's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Rockbridge Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arlington Baptist will take on Frederick Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Rockbridge Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Perry Hall Christian at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Perry Hall Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday.
