Basketball Recap: Melrose Comes Up Short

Melrose was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Montevideo Thunderhawks, falling 76-52. While losing is never fun, the Dutchmen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 254th, while the Thunderhawks are ranked 29th).

Melrose's loss dropped their record down to 5-19. As for Montevideo, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season.

While Melrose had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
