Baseball Game Preview: Bishop McDevitt Crusaders vs. Trinity Shamrocks

The Bishop McDevitt Crusaders will venture away from home to challenge the Trinity Shamrocks at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Bishop McDevitt and Carlisle, and Carlisle kept the tradition alive. The Crusaders took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thundering Herd on Wednesday. That's two games in a row now that the Crusaders have lost by exactly five runs.

Easton Comp was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Trinity fell victim to East Pennsboro and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 8-0. The Shamrocks haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Trinity saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Garreth Calder, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Trinity's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Bishop McDevitt, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Bishop McDevitt couldn't quite get it done against Trinity in their previous meeting back in March as they fell 8-5. Can the Crusaders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
