Basketball Recap: Parker Hunter Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Wadena-Deer Creek

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Detroit Lakes, Park Rapids was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines as the Park Rapids Panthers made off with an 85-60 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Park Rapids' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Parker Hunter, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ryan Carroll, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 boards.

Park Rapids' victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Wadena-Deer Creek, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.

Park Rapids didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 95-94 win against Staples-Motley on the 24th. Wadena-Deer Creek has also already played their next contest (against Sebeka), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
