Softball Recap: Willis Makes It Seven in a Row at Home

Willis got themselves on the board against Cleveland on Tuesday, but Cleveland never followed suit. They were the clear victor by a 15-0 margin over the Cleveland Indians. The result was nothing new for the Wildkats, who have now won seven matches by nine runs or more so far this season.

Sydney Prihoda and Madison Culp did most of the damage at the plate: Prihoda went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Culp went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs Culp has posted since back in February of 2024. Josie Foxworth was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Willis lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least two home runs in three consecutive contests.

Willis pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Cleveland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-14.

Looking ahead, Willis will challenge College Park at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Cleveland, they will face off against Caney Creek at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
