Southampton Academy extended the longest winning streak in NCISAA Colonial Carolina (8 Man) this week by beating Lawrence Academy, 58-20. The victory was the 10th in a row for the Raiders.
Southampton Academy took down the Warriors 58-20 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Nate Staskelunas was the best wideout in the league this week as Arendell Parrott Academy fell to Hobgood Academy. Staskelunas tallied four receptions for 83 yards.
Greg "GJ" Mullins was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 305 yards on 11 carries as the Raiders lost to the Raiders. Jawan Marshall also contributed to the rushing game with 176 yards on the ground.
Arendell Parrott Academy's Andrew Davenport and Staskelunas have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading NCISAA Colonial Carolina (8 Man) in both passing and receiving yards. Davenport has thrown for 1017 yards this season, while Staskelunas, a 6-foot-4 receiver, has 38 catches for 849 yards. Mullins from Hobgood Academy leads the league in rushing with 2444 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Cary Christian and Dale Marks' team. The Knights enters the game ranked third in the state, while the Raiders ranks first.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Brandon Lanier's team takes on Word of God Christian Academy. The Raiders' offense has recorded 482 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while the Rams have permitted only 156 on the year.
There should be lots of points scored when Hobgood Academy and Word of God Christian Academy face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Raiders comes in having scored 482 this season, while Kevin D Washington's team has scored 448. Hobgood Academy scored 70 points last week as it beat Matt Beaman's team.
The Raiders made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 339 from 416. The advance stemmed from a 70-35 victory over the Patriots last week.
