Flag Football Recap: Gridley Comes Up Short

Gridley and Orestimba squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Gridley had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Warriors, falling 35-6. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 482nd, while the Warriors are ranked 65th).

The critical scores for Orestimba came from Imelda Beltran-Pelayo, Madelyn Perez, Salece Machado, Marian Quevedo, and Natalie Corella.

Gridley's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Orestimba, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 23-2.

Gridley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Orestimba, they will take on Destiny Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Warriors 11.4, the Lions 13.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
