Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Central). They blew past the Furlow Charter School Falcons 101-22 on Monday. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 23 points or more this season.

Central got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Xaien Porter out in front who posted 17 points. Brody Leonard was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Furlow Charter School's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gabe Lawrence, who put up seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rashad Dowdell, who had seven points.

The win made it two in a row for Central and bumps their season record up to 6-3. As for Furlow Charter School, they are on a 26-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Central Hawks face off against the Marion County Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Furlow Charter School, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 60-31 loss against Southwest Georgia STEM Charter on the 10th.
