Baseball Game Preview: Kankakee Valley Kougars vs. Munster Mustangs

For the second straight game, Kankakee Valley will face off against Munster. The Kougars will be playing at home against the Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kankakee Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

Kankakee Valley fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Munster on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 2-1. The Kougars' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Alex Barr was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over six innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had over his last four contests.

At the plate, Kankakee Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Declan Murr, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Munster's victory bumped their record up to 14-11. As for Kankakee Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-10-1.
