Recap: West Trojans vs. Clifton Cubs
The West Trojans put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 36-28 victory over Clifton. Given West's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 225th, while Clifton is ranked 821st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Cubs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Meagan Henderson, who scored 6 points along with 6 rebounds.
West pushed their record up to 6-0 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Clifton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.
West has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Grandview at 1:00 p.m. on December 2nd. Grandview and West are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads. Clifton will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Newman International Academy at 12:00 p.m. on December 1st.
