On Friday, Ascent Classical Academy had to suffer through a rough 57-15 loss at the hands of Addenbrooke Classical Academy. Ascent Classical Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-9.
Addenbrooke Classical Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Reena Lanzen, who scored 17 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Lanzen has scored at least 25% of Addenbrooke Classical Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Peyton Trujillo, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 steals.
Ascent Classical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Addenbrooke Classical Academy, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ascent Classical Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off.
