Baseball Recap: Mark Twain Comes Up Short

Mark Twain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 16-2 to the Wright City Wildcats. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 15-0 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mark Twain saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landen Armour, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Armour is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

Mark Twain's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Wright City, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-9.

Looking ahead, Mark Twain will square off against Elsberry at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Wright City, they will take on Hallsville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats are facing the Indians at the right time seeing as the Indians are stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
