Basketball Recap: Orange Comes Up Short

Orange was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Villa Angela-St. Joseph Vikings, falling 70-40. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-16.

Elizabeth Dunmire continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Villa Angela-St. Joseph, going 6 of 8from beyond the arc on her way to 25 points along with seven boards and five steals. Dunmire is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kya Bell, who posted 12 points in addition to six boards and four steals.

Orange's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Villa Angela-St. Joseph, they pushed their record up to 3-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
