Corona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They fell just short of the Bloomington Bruins by a score of 42-40.

Corona lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Elijah Marshall, who picked up 104 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Another passer making a difference was Will Hitchcock, who threw for 351 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt.

Corona wouldn't let Bloomington keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. Corona can thank Angel Heredia and Josh Mendoza for forcing all of them. Mendoza also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing a fumble and making five total tackles. Another thorn in Bloomington's side was Joseph Reyes, who made 13 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Bloomington got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ricardo Sanchez out in front who rushed for 151 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. Nicholas Seventy was another key player, gaining 156 total yards and a touchdown.

Corona's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Bloomington, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.

Corona will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Lakeside at 7:00 p.m. on September 13th. As for Bloomington, they will venture away from home to challenge Rubidoux at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
