Basketball Game Preview: Barberton Magics vs. Copley Indians

The Barberton Magics will venture away from home to take on the Copley Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Barberton has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with seven straight losses, while Copley will come in with three straight wins.

Barberton lost 49-27 to Revere on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Copley won against Roosevelt on Saturday with 38 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Wednesday. Copley slipped by Cuyahoga Falls 38-37. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Black Tigers are ranked 266th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Barberton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Copley, their victory bumped their record up to 11-3.

Things could have been worse for Barberton, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 52-35 loss to Copley when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Barberton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
