Softball Game Preview: Meridian Wildcats vs. Wayne County War Eagles

Meridian hasn't had much luck against Wayne County recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. Meridian will challenge Wayne County at 1:30 p.m. Meridian has given up an average of 9.4 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Meridian turned things around against Cleveland Central on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Wolves 13-12.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Wayne County's offense. They came up short against East Central on Friday, falling 10-0. The War Eagles have struggled against the Hornets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Wayne County's loss dropped their record down to 3-11-1. As for Meridian, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.

Meridian suffered a grim 13-3 defeat to Wayne County when the teams last played on March 1st. Can Meridian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
