Basketball Game Preview: Elliott County Lions vs. Russell Red Devils

The Elliott County Lions will take on the Russell Red Devils in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

While Elliott County didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-25), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They enjoyed a cozy 59-40 victory over Morgan County on Friday.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Russell, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They skirted past Paintsville 62-59. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Red Devils have posted since February 3rd.

Russell's win came from a few key players Elliott County will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Caleb Rimmer, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaiden Benge, who posted 15 points.

Elliott County's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Russell, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
