Football Recap: Lyndhurst Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Lyndhurst and Shabazz squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Lyndhurst had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 46-7 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Golden Bears, who until this matchup were averaging 13.1 points allowed.

Avery Cano threw for 44 yards and one TD. Randy Leon was his top target, picking up 32 receiving yards.

Lyndhurst's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Shabazz, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Lyndhurst does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Shabazz, they will host Rutherford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rutherford's defense has only allowed 15 points per game this season, so Shabazz's offense will have their work cut out for them.
