Football Recap: Cape Coral Extends Winning Streak to Five

Cape Coral extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Jermain Skinner. The Seahawks came out on top against the Estero Wildcats by a score of 34-21 on Friday thanks in part to Skinner, who rushed for 153 yards and two scores on only nine carries. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Cape Coral's defense and their five sacks. In that department, Tavaris Graves was the leader with 2.5. Jayden Reyes got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nathan Watters, who rushed for 64 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 31 receiving yards and one TD. Maddox Stewart was another key player, having thrown for 319 yards and onetouchdown.

Cape Coral's record is now 5-0. As for Estero, they moved to 3-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Cape Coral and Estero will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Seahawks are set to take on their familiar foe Charlotte at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Estero will face off against rival Cypress Lake at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
