Concordia and Mount Michael Benedictine are an even 3-3 against one another since September of 2016, but not for long. The Mustangs will face off against the Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Concordia's offense hasn't had much luck over their past three games, but Friday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

Things were looking good for Concordia after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against Fort Calhoun, falling 27-7. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska football rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Pioneers are ranked 27th).

Meanwhile, Mount Michael Benedictine didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Douglas County West on Friday, but they still walked away with a 24-20 victory.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Jedd Ramold and Brady Quinlivan. Ramold rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns while Quinlivan gained 128 total yards and a touchdown. Quinlivan didn't just play on offense: he also made five total tackles and defended one pass in addition to snagging an interception.

Mount Michael Benedictine was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 239 rushing yards. They are a perfect 4-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Mount Michael Benedictine's record now sits at 5-2. As for Concordia, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Concordia was dealt a bruising 42-0 loss at the hands of Mount Michael Benedictine in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
