            Softball Recap: Calaveras Red Hawks vs. Liberty Ranch Hawks        
        
		
        
        
            With a playoff win on the line, Calaveras rose to the challenge  on Saturday. They blew past the Liberty Ranch Hawks 9-2. The result was nothing new for the Red Hawks, who have now won 11 games by six  runs or more  so far this season.

 Kamryn Thornburg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned runs on three hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts any time she's  pitched this season.
 On the hitting side, Calaveras let  Carlee Jasper and  Emma Clark run wild. Jasper  went 2-for-4 with two  runs and one  RBI, while  Clark  went 1-for-3 with one  run, one  double,  and one  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Mariah Maddock, who  went 2-for-4 with one  double and one  RBI.
The  victory (which was Calaveras' fifth in a row) raised their record to 19-7-1. Those  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Liberty Ranch, they moved to 20-6 with that  loss, which also ended their 14-game winning streak.
As of now, neither Calaveras nor the Hawks have any future games scheduled.
