Softball Recap: Palmetto Takes a Loss

Palmetto and East Lake squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Palmetto had to settle for second. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The Tigers' loss continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

Palmetto saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was LeiLani Cruz, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Cruz is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

Palmetto's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for East Lake, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 21-4.

Palmetto does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for East Lake, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mitchell at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 2.2, the Mustangs 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
