Recap: Hamilton County Foxes vs. Flora Wolves
The Hamilton County Foxes had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took down Flora 65-49 on Tuesday. The win was just what Hamilton County needed coming off of a 58-32 loss in their prior contest.
Hamilton County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rayci Phelps led the charge by scoring 22 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Phelps has scored at least a third of Hamilton County's points. Kaylie Brake was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds and five assists.
Hamilton County's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-12. As for Flora, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-19.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hamilton County will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Frankfort at 1:00 p.m. on January 27th. As for Flora, they will challenge Edwards County at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Edwards County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Flora in Illinois (Edwards County is ranked 224th, while Flora is ranked 478th).
