Recap: Roma Gladiators vs. Palmview Lobos
The Roma Gladiators have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They had to suffer through a rough 61-32 loss at the hands of Palmview. Roma has struggled against Palmview recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Mia Rojas was her usual excellent self, shooting 5-for-8 from beyond the arc and dropping a double-double on 30 points and ten rebounds for Palmview. The match was Rojas' 19th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jocelyn Rojas, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
Roma's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-7. As for Palmview, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 22-5.
Roma will head out on the road to face off against Martin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Martin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Tuesday. As for Palmview, they will be playing at home against Juarez-Lincoln at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Juarez-Lincoln has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 18.
