Softball Recap: Lorena's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Lorena waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the La Vega Pirates. The result was nothing new for the Leopards, who have now won six matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Abby Vasser was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in February of 2024. Emily Ackermann was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Vasser wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Lorena kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive games.

Lorena's record now sits at 12-4. As for La Vega, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lorena will challenge rival Gatesville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, La Vega is set to take on their familiar foe China Spring at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
